Desktop resolution changes back to "recommended" when PC is re-started
Hi,I have a bit older PC using an ATI x1950PRO AGP card - hence I cannot use any ATI drivers and am 'stuck' with those coming with Win 7 RC.I also have an old monitor - a Sony 200 PST - however it works great for me :-)Win 7 recommends a desktop resolution of 1280x1024 - but I prefer 1152x864, so this is what I set it to. BUT when I shut my PC down for the day and restart it the next, VOILA - it reverts the desktop resolution to 1280x1024 ?!?!?!?!?I even tried to change the monitor setup to a "Generic PnP" one - no luck .....This is driving me crazy - any thoughts on it out there ???Cheers,Stone

Right-click on your desktop and select Screen Resolution > Advanced Settings > List All Modes. Then experiment with the 1152 x 864 settings, beginning with the 1152 x 864, True Color (32-bit), 75 Hertz setting.Make sure to click OK and Apply. Carey Frisch

Hi Carey,Seems to have done the trick :-)I only used the option to resize the desktop on the start popup when selecting Screen Resolution - in the [obviously futile] belief that Win 7 would remember this choice .... which it appears not to do.Kudos my friend,//STONE
